Trousdale County Projected and Actual Release
A release-related date can mark eligibility, a possible parole hearing, sentence expiration, mandatory reentry, or an agency projection. It is not the same as the time a person walked out of a facility. An actual release record states the custody event, authority, date, time, and destination or next custodian. Eligibility only means a legal milestone has been reached.
TDOC FOIL uses two exact labels: Release Eligibility Date and Sentence End Date. FOIL also warns, “Dates may change as additional court documents are received.” Release Eligibility Date is the closest public planning field, while Sentence End Date is the calculated endpoint. Neither proves release occurred. A former, inactive, parole, or probation status plus release information can support a completed event, but the final release authorization is stronger proof.
For Trousdale County Jail, a pretrial detainee has no sentence-based projected date. Bond can be posted, a judge can amend an order, a detainer can block community release, or the case can change. TTCC is a medium-security TDOC state prison, although it is managed by CoreCivic and located in Hartsville. Sending a TTCC sentence question to the sheriff will not produce the state calculation.

Trousdale County FOIL Release Date Fields
FOIL covers Tennessee felony offenders currently or formerly in TDOC custody or supervision. It is well suited to a TTCC record, but it is not a universal Trousdale County Jail search. A local misdemeanor booking, pretrial bond release, or dismissed charge may never enter TDOC's system.

FOIL also lists TDOC and State ID numbers, name, date of birth, aliases, sentence length, sentence begin date, custody level, and offense information. Compare identifiers before reading a date. For a former offender, do not rewrite “inactive” as “sentence complete” without release information or the official authorization.
Trousdale County Sentence Credit Calculations
A state calculation begins with the judgment. The offense, offense date, sentence length, range, concurrent or consecutive structure, and pretrial jail credit all matter. Tenn. Code § 40-35-501 establishes release-eligibility rules and many exceptions. The common claim that all Tennessee inmates serve 85% is false. Some specified offenses and statutory cohorts carry an 85% floor, while other rules apply elsewhere.
Section 39-13-523 provides 100% or no-release treatment for specified offenses. Tennessee's truth-in-sentencing changes also created offense-specific 85% and 100% categories for specified offenses committed on or after July 1, 2022. The governing law depends on the individual offense date and judgment. Credits cannot erase a statutory minimum.
Section 41-21-236 authorizes qualifying sentence-reduction credits. Its general scale can reach no more than eight days per month for good institutional behavior and no more than eight for satisfactory program performance. That is a ceiling, not a promise. Credits may be withheld, lost, and sometimes restored. The law also has offense and date exclusions, limited educational credits, and a restriction that generally prevents credits from moving earliest eligibility more than 35% before the undiminished date.
Tenn. Code § 41-21-1006 assigns TDOC the sentence-expiration and earliest-release calculations for TDOC felony sentences and felony county-jail or workhouse sentences of one year or more. TDOC policy 502.01 governs formal credit actions, including loss, restoration, and some release-date extensions. The agency, not a public estimate, calculates the individual date.

Trousdale County Jail Release Date Limits
No official Trousdale County Jail good-time formula or weekend-release practice was found. That local absence is important. TDOC's prison-credit framework cannot be copied onto a county pretrial stay or short local sentence. Ask the jail how its record applies the court's time-served order, pretrial credit, and any lawful local credit to that person.
The county jail and TTCC sit in the same county but use different records. TTCC projections depend on Tennessee sentence statutes and TDOC credit actions. A Trousdale jail date depends on the filed judgment, the jail's computation, release processing, and any holds. Weekend office closure may delay documentary access, yet it does not establish a rule that release occurs early or late.
A county date should therefore be stated as an agency-provided estimate or court-based calculation, with its source and observation date. If no date is supplied, report that no official projected date was found. Do not fill the gap with another county's practice.

Why Trousdale County Release Dates Change
A displayed date is a snapshot of records and rules then known to the agency. TDOC expressly warns that new court documents can change its dates. A date can move earlier or later, and some events change the release path without changing the underlying sentence end.

Mandatory reentry adds another milestone. Under § 40-35-506, an eligible person with a covered felony may serve a final period in the community if the statutory and agency criteria are met. Active detainers, pending cases, custody classification, and recent discipline can block that path. The sentence end and community-placement date should not be merged into one label.
Confirm Trousdale County Actual Release
When the projected date nears, check the source again. For TTCC, use FOIL, TDOC release information, and the final authorization. If parole is involved, separate the Board decision from plan approval and physical exit. The returned computation can explain the recorded sentence end, while the authorization identifies the actual release type and destination.
